Surgery centers are a fun way to keep our technical brain working; the problem solving is intense and something we pride ourselves in. The design and suite layout are often driven by a multitude of codes and regulations making a project appear limited by a script with little room for creativity. The solutions we bring implement a company's brand while interpreting limitations on the regulations infuses personality into the room. We have successfully navigated highly regulated projects with strict licensing with the balance of incorporating the client’s visions and enhancing the brand.

Cardiac Surgery Center of AZ* // 4,500 SF // Glendale, AZ

Once a Panera Bread Co. location, this existing space appeared too small to outfit a surgery center, especially one with two Angiography suites, which are significantly larger than a standard Operating Room. To gain interior square footage, the covered patio was enclosed, and the new generator and electrical service was placed within the old trash enclosure. The retrofit of this restaurant to a medical space brought unique solutions to the forefront to maximize Cardiac Surgery Center’s new location.

ON THE BOARDS:

Baywood ASC // 11,300 SF // Mesa, AZ

This transformation of a speculative surgery center will now meet the function and brand standards for Baywood’s newest ASC. Since original construction of the speculative space, the suite’s function has been improved and refined codes allowed for the reduction of fire and smoke-rated partitions. By understanding the newest regulations, the budget was achieved without compromising the tenant’s vision for the surgery center.
